Poco Dell was bought in 1952 by Jimmy Randals of New Mexico. Jimmy had Poco Dell all of his life until Poco Dell died in 1975 at the age of 25. Poco Dell was a bay that was 14.2 hands in height at maturity. He liked his conformation & just wanted a cutting horse. Jimmy knew about Poco Bueno's line but he knew nothing about Shady Dell or that the blue hen mare would be one of the most famous broodmares of the American Quarter horse.
Shady Dell produced 5 AQHA Champions: Poco Dell & Poco Willy [by Poco Bueno], Poco Deuce Jr & Poco Pep Up [by Poco Deuce], & Snipper Reed [by Logan's Bobby Reed].
Jimmy Randals considered three sons & two daughters of Poco Dell to be outstanding. The sons were Poco Jeff, Poco Dondi, and Poco Ra Dell. The daughters were Poco Dana & Madonna Dell.
Poco Jeff an AQHA Champion was owned by Bill Stockstill of Pampa, Tex., and Jeff was a good winner at both halter & cutting. Poco Jeff was out of a plain-looking mare by Billy Clegg, named Nestora. Nestora was one of Jimmys top producing mares. That cross produced two more full brothers to Poco Jeff. They were Dell Mike & Dell Jiggs.
