With the purchase of Heza Dun Smoke as a yearling I did not care or know very much about the grullo color. We have now set our goals on raising foundation bred Quarter Horses with color. Heza Dun Smoke has Continental King, Chubby, Hollywood Gold,  Music Mount, Poco Dell, Grey Badger II, San Siemon, and King in his pedigree.

Our broodmares were picked specifically to cross on our stallion. We sought them out for their proven bloodlines, disposition, intelligence, athletic abilities, and conformation. We have brought together a few broodmares with pedigrees that  are hard to find and with all the qualities we seek in a mare. We believe when crossed on our stallion they will produce a versatile horse that can cut, rein, rope, or western pleasure.
Association. Our horses are eligible for any of the foundation Quarter Horse organizations. We breed for quality, disposition, intelligence, athletic abilities, conformation, and with the bonus of color.

We never compromise any of these qualities for color. We believe that one doesn't need to sacrifice color for quality or sacrifice quality for color! Our goal is to offer quality with color.

We have had riding horses all our lives. Our breeding journey began with the purchase of a foundation bred broodmare. Her foal [Genuine King Reno] had such a great disposition, intelligence, big hip, and pretty head that we were amazed at him. He seemed to know what to do before we asked him. He is a great-grandson of Continental King. So I started searching for horses of that bloodline. That's when I found my stallion Heza Dun Smoke.
We are just a small foundation Quarter Horse breeding farm in western Kentucky. We are dedicated to the improvement and preservation of the American Quarter horse. We believe in the original versatile Quarter horse. They were horses that could do it all. We have chosen to breed the bloodlines that have stood the test of time.

The foundation bloodlines that we use are some of the original bloodlines used as a cornerstone to build the American Quarter Horse
