Continental Bucky - 1974 - 1051188 buckskin stallion
Continental Bucky was foaled at The Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio. Larry and Jo Wickline of Sunbury, Ohio purchased him as a yearling and was his owners all of his life.
Miss Wickline said, "Bucky was a horse of a life time and there will never be another like him for us." He stood on The Million Dollar Stallion Avenue at The American Quarter Horse Congress Show for about Ten Years. It was a great honor that he was one of the chosen few to do so.
Continental Bucky stood 16.1 hands and weighed a healthy 1,350 pounds. He was a son of Continental King, who was a superior reining horse, ROM arena, and a grandson of King, whose name we all know. His dam was Trade Wind Holly, a well-known cutting mare, who was a granddaughter to Hollywood Gold. He had an uncomparable disposition, conformation and size, along with his proven ability as a sire, made him a excellent breeding sire. In his short breeding career he produced an unbelievable assortment of color in his foals, including buckskin, bay, black, gray, palomino, and dun. Size was another desirable feature in his offspring.
Continental Bucky had a very limited show record, having only been shown for a brief eight-week season, during which time he very successfully shown acquiring his ROM in English Hunt Seat and displayed the qualities required to go on to the World. He also did very well showing at halter. An unfortunate foot injury put an untimely end to his performance in the show ring.
